Very many thanks to all involved in 2023... here's to 2024!

Very many thanks to everyone involved in any way with the 2023 Soap Box Races - organisers, everyone (and there were a lot of you!) who helped in so many ways over the weekend, the residents on Knowle Hill and High Street, all our intrepid racers, the St. John Ambulance team, Dowdeswell's Bar, Gin Bar, the Sports and Recreation club for the BBQ, Cliff the Ice Cream man, the staff at the Wheatsheaf Inn and Walter's for hosting Race HQ.
Our sponsors that make the event possible, self-funded and FREE to watch!
Finally, all of you who turned out to cheer the racers on.

Badsey Soapbox Races

are a fun and free to watch event sponsored by Badsey and Aldington Parish Council and run by a committee of Parish Councillors and local residents. The event takes place on the Sunday of the August Bank Holiday weekend.

The day starts with Scrutineering from about 10:00am at the Wheatsheaf Inn, Practice from about 11:45am and Races from about 1:00pm.

The event costs are met by sponsorship from local companies, other sponsors and the entry fees for the soapboxes.

The races started in 2016 after a chance discussion in the local village pub - like so many ideas! This led to a group of people deciding to try and put on the first races. It was taken to the Parish Council who agreed to make it a sponsored village event. Over time the organisation has improved as we have learned lessons from previous events. In a similar way the entrants have honed their soapboxes to the specifics of the course in Badsey.
