It is with regret we announce that the 2021 Badsey Soapbox Races have been cancelled.

While we had hoped to run the races this year it is felt impractical given the situation remains fluid into June and the races require considerable up front organisation that is not possible.

We hope to be back next year bigger and better!

Badsey Soapbox Races

are a fun and free to watch event sponsored by Badsey and Aldington Parish Council and run by a committee of Parish Councillors and local residents. The event takes place on the Sunday of the August Bank Holiday weekend.

The event costs are met by sponsorship from local companies, other sponsors and the entry fees for the soapboxes.

The races started in 2016 after a chance discussion in the local village pub - like so many ideas! This led to a group of people deciding to try and put on the first races. It was taken to the Parish Council who agreed to make it a sponsored village event. Over time the organisation has improved as we have learned lessons from previous events. In a similar way the entrants have honed their soapboxes to the specifics of the course in Badsey.
